Luz, Layla, Syd and I (Phillip) share an apartment in the College area. It’s a queer/trans household and we’ve all been really happy living with everyone here.

At midnight on New Year’s Eve, while everyone was out celebrating, a fire occurred in our apartment. The place and everything inside was destroyed, either by fire itself or excessive smoke damage.

Renter’s insurance doesn’t really cover nearly enough and with it being the slowest time for work in the year, funds are very low and running out fast. In order to get into a new place and survive we need some help. We’re going to need to replace everything: clothes, furniture, all of our personal goods. Moving expenses on top of that means we’re in a really rough spot.

The goal is to be back in an apartment as soon as possible. Right now it’s hotels and gracious couch owners keeping a roof over our head. It’s not something that can work long term and we’ve gotta figure it out fast.

Any help in getting back to some sort of normalcy would be incredibly appreciated.
