I’m Lux, a 21-year-old athlete with dual British and Australian heritage, brought up in the UK and now competing for Team GB in Paraclimbing, with a real shot at the 2028 Paralympics.
I started climbing at The Castle Climbing Centre in North London when I was nine, growing up in the UK and training here ever since. Now, I’m both a coach and instructor there, helping climbers of all abilities push their limits.
Paraclimbing isn’t a modified version of climbing. It’s just as intense, just as competitive, and demands the same dedication as any elite sport.
I was born with Stargardt’s Disease, a degenerative eye condition that means I have no central vision, and what remains is severely blurred. I’m registered blind—what a fully sighted person sees at 60m, I can only see at 3m, and even then, it’s out of focus. But that hasn’t stopped me.
At 15, I joined the GB Paraclimbing Team and competed in my first international event, where I took silver. Since then, I’ve made the podium at every international event I’ve attended, always the youngest climber in my category. My latest achievement—silver at the 2024 Para Climbing World Cup in Italy—marks another step forward as I continue to progress.
My performances have earned me a place on the Team GB Paraclimbing Podium Squad.

International Competitions 2025
✅ Seoul (World Championships, South Korea)

We are aiming to attend all of the above, funding permitting, but our primary focus is the 2025 IFSC Para Climbing World Championships in Seoul, South Korea. Competing there—and in European events—is essential to maintaining my ranking and staying on track for 2028.
Funding for GB para climbers is extremely limited, and athletes are largely responsible for covering the costs of regional & international competitions themselves. This means that travel, accommodation, coaching, and training expenses fall on me and my family.
I Need to Raise £12,000 to cover:
✅ World Championships (South Korea, 2025) – flights, accommodation, general expenses (food, local transport), competition fees, and all costs for my sight guide and chaperone—my brother, Max. To perform at my best, we will arrive early to acclimate and follow established sports travel guidelines for jet lag management and peak performance adjustment.
✅ European World Cups – travel, accommodation, and entry fees for both myself and Max, ensuring I can compete and maintain my international ranking.
✅ Elite Training & Support – physiotherapy, structured training, nutritional advice, and essential climbing equipment, including new radio headsets.
Max: My Guide On and Off the Wall
As a blind climber, I rely on a sight guide to describe the wall as I climb. That’s my older brother, Max. Through a radio headset, he calls out holds, sequences, and movements—something we’ve perfected over years of training together. But Max is more than just my guide when I compete—he’s also my chaperone, helping me navigate airports, hotels, and everyday life when we travel. Without him, I literally couldn’t compete, which is why these funds also cover his travel and expenses.
The Road to 2028 Starts Now:
The final decision on Paralympic categories is expected in December 2025, but preparation can’t wait. Competing internationally is essential to refining my skills, gaining experience, and keeping my ranking high enough for Paralympic selection.
