Help Lupita recover

Donation protected
Last Sunday, Lupita survived a suicide attempt. She is now safe and sound getting the emergency counseling she needs, but is at the beginning of her recovery journey. She is committed to her recovery—but she cannot do it alone.

We are Lupita's friends from her Animation cohort. We are setting this up because she needs urgent support to cover high co-pays, rent, basic bills, and temporary rehousing for her beloved cats while she focuses on getting well.

Lupita has spent much of her life in survival mode. As the oldest of three siblings, she was forced to take on an adult role early on due to a lack of familial support. After losing her father and growing up with a severely mentally ill mother, Lupita endured years of trauma that she carried silently while giving everything she could to those around her.

Through all this she has been steadfast on her dedication to storytelling. Lupita is a talented animator and artist, and the world needs more of her work.

In her own words: "I come from a broken childhood, and animated films and shows gave me hope in my darkest times. I want to help kids and give hope that life gets better through my shows."

Lupita has always given to others. Now, she needs help giving to herself. With support, her chances of long-term recovery and safety grow significantly—studies show that community care and financial stability drastically reduce the risk of future suicide attempts.

Please consider donating or sharing. Every bit of support brings her one step closer to healing.
