Help Lupita Pay for Open Heart Surgery
Lupita Tirado is Mazatlan's biggest animal hero. She has dedicated her home and her life to helping abandoned and abused animals.
Lupita needs our help now to pay for open-heart surgery.
Lupita is the founder of the Hope Animal Sanctuary in Mazatlan, Mexico. She has turned her home and family farm into a safe haven for homeless animals where she has cared for at least 1500 animals over time. Lupita has worked tirelessly for years to give abandoned animals a chance at a better life.
Lately Lupita has been struggling to manage the sanctuary... fatigue, dizzy spells, shortness of breath and a racing heart. Three weeks ago she woke up so dizzy that she couldn't get out of bed.
Finally, after many visits to doctors... a diagnosis: Lupita has a damaged heart valve. She will require open heart surgery for a valve replacement. Without this surgery, her quality of life with continue to decline. Her doctor recommends that she schedule surgery as soon as possible.
Here's the problem. The cost of the surgery and other expenses will be up to 500,000 pesos ($35,000 CAD / $26,000 USD). This is far beyond the means of Lupita and her family.
Lupita's family is reaching out to the community for help to fund Lupita's surgery and some donations have already been made. Those of us who work with Lupita at the sanctuary would like to be part of the solution and so we created this Go Fund Me Campaign.
Your donations will help Lupita get her surgery and return to her important role at the sanctuary. The prognosis for a full recovery is excellent.
This is not a Mazatlan Animal Rescue fundraiser. Funds donated to this campaign will go directly to Lupita. Funds donated to Mazatlan Animal rescue will continue to be used for animal care.
