Hi, my name is Luna Rodriguez, I’m originally from Redding, California, but I’ve grown up in Sacramento. I enjoy school, spending time outdoors, playing video games, and playing the piano. I am also a foster youth and have been in foster care for 2 years now. During this time, I was diagnosed with PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) and Anxiety, which can make daily life and school really challenging at times. I’m starting this fundraiser to help raise funds for my puppy, Draco, to begin service dog training. Draco is a Standard Australian Shepherd, and he’s already such a smart, loyal, and loving companion. With the proper training, he will be able to help me in so many important ways, like managing my anxiety in crowded places, interrupting flashbacks, guiding me through grounding exercises, and helping me cope with or avoid overwhelming situations. We will be working with All Stage Canine Development in Citrus Heights, a professional training program that specializes in service dogs. With their help, Draco can learn the skills he needs to support me and help me live a more independent and confident life. Having Draco as a trained service dog will also give me the confidence to return to school, focus on my education, and build positive, healthy connections with my peers. Your support would mean the world to me and help me take an important step forward in my healing journey…
