Hi, my name is Lunar. I hate the idea of asking strangers for help, but I've run out of options. Back at the end of July, I lost my job due to layoffs. I'm eligible for rehire and everything; they just didn't have the budget to keep me on. Since then, I've been searching for work, but despite putting out upwards of 300 applications, I have only received one interview, and it was recent.

I'm running out of time on unemployment. Soon I will have no income and no way to support myself and my disabled partner. Even on unemployment, the costs are more than that pay can manage. We are working on getting my partner on disability, but that process is lengthy and hard.

With the shutdown, even food is difficult.

So I've decided the last place I can check is here. Assistance programs require you to have a shutoff/eviction notice, and I'd rather avoid that.

I've only included what I need to keep me and my partner afloat for about 2-3 months. I don't want to be greedy and ask for too much; I'm just desperate and scared. I have unemployment until about the end of December, so for the immediate moment, we have just enough. I'm hoping that if I have extra time, I can actually get a job before then.

I swear I've been looking nonstop. It's so infuriating that things aren't going right. I'm at my wits' end and constantly in a state of panic over the approaching deadline. If you could donate and share even a little, I'd be so grateful... I'm so sorry and thank you to everyone who reads this.

Funds will be used specifically for rent and bills. Anything left over would be put to food. If I have even more left over after finding a job, I'll donate the rest to local charities in Grand Rapids, preferably anything helping others in my situation.
