Luna's Medical Costs and Bills
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I hate doing this yet again, especially with the state of the world, but unfortunately I'm in a place (like many others right now) where I need help. Due to COVID-19 a lot has been happening and my health as taken another serious turn.
Right now I am unable to work at all due to physical and mental health complications. I'm currently unable to walk on my own for longer periods of time without assistance from a cane and I am still seizing due to an unknown cause (likely PTSD). I have been having unexplained pain flare ups that leave me in a state of being unable to move. Because I am immunocompromised all of my medical procedures and hospital intakes have been postponed indefinitely until it is safe for me to go into a medical facility. I have been doing telehealth when possible, but my diagnosis for possible multiple sclerosis and other potential immune disorders has been put off. Even during times of extreme pain or borderline medical emergencies, going to a hospital or emergency room is more of a risk than waiting the pain out.
I'm in dire need of therapy and mental health assistance , but due to the pandemic many therapists are not taking new patients and my medical insurance does not cover many of the specialists I need. I will need to come out of pocket for these costs. I'm hoping that once I receive treatment I'll be able to file once again for disability to put me in a more stable position, but until then, I need to find a specialist and have an intake and evaluation done as soon as possible.
On top of that I am almost finished paying off my credit card debt which would relieve a lot of my stress, however, with myself being unable to work and my wife's unemployment will soon be running out and she is still only been given 7 hours of work a week total we are running low on funds.
The $3500 is a starting amount and the funds would be split between the following:
- $2000 for finishing paying off my debt.
- $1500 for therapy and a mental health evaluation.
- Any other funds beyond my goal would go to continued therapy and quality of life at the moment.
I'm hoping that by being able to pay off my debt and independently go to a therapist without my medical insurance restricting me that I can breathe a little easier and focus on my health and recovering rather than living in a state of panic.
If you read this, thank you. Even if you cannot donate, I understand. The state of the world is difficult for everyone at the moment. Even just sharing this in hopes that others see it and if they are able to help is more than enough.
I still want to say thank you to everyone who has been by my side through my health even during the pandemic.
All my love,
- Luna
