Help Luna Recover: Support Monique's Cats

Hi, my name is Monique. I have 7 cats, 6 of which were rescued.

My heart aches as my 17-year-old cat, Luna, has been hospitalized. She had bloody diarrhea, which prompted this visit. She was admitted yesterday, December 20th, and has to remain through Monday afternoon. Just this visit is $5,000. I’m hoping she recovers. She is anemic, and they have not found the source of the blood loss. She has a blockage in her intestines that they are trying to clear. She has an active infection in her blood with an unknown source. They are still running tests on her to figure out what is causing this. She also was recently in there 2 months ago with 2 ear infections, and she has stage 2 of 4 kidney failure. So she is on a kidney diet now. Her kidney levels look to have improved since her last visit. Her glucose levels are normal, but the urinalysis shows glucose in her urine, so they are working to figure that out as well.

My other cat, Eclipse, has diabetes and hyperthyroidism. I spent almost $13k on his vet expenses last year fighting infections and getting him back healthy. He has flourished this year and has recovered and is doing very well.

That being said, I have maxed out 2 credit cards now, and while caring for my cats is a major priority, this has been such a financial burden and struggle.

I am supposed to get married next year, but this is making it impossible to be able to afford a wedding and care for them.

My 7 cats mean the world to me, and anyone that knows me knows they are my heart and soul, and I will always prioritize doing everything I can to save my babies.

If anyone is willing to help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. I’m embarrassed to have to ask for help and make a GoFundMe, but I desperately need the help. I don’t know what additional vet visits will be needed or what the diagnosis will be for Luna. I only hope she recovers and is able to continue having a good quality of life.
