This past weekend, my 9-month-old puppy Luna had to undergo emergency, life-saving surgery—and it all happened so fast. Anyone who has met Luna instantly falls in love with her playful, puppy-like demeanor. She’s full of love, personality, and brings so much happiness to everyone around her. Luna has managed to put a smile on every human or dog’s face she has ever met. She is a little love and needs your help!
Out of nowhere, Luna became very sick and began vomiting. We rushed her to the emergency vet Saturday night, where we learned she had a diaphragmatic hernia, a serious condition that caused her stomach to push into her chest. Thankfully, we caught it before it was too late, but she needed immediate surgery to save her life. While I am beyond grateful that she made it through and is now home recovering, it has been incredibly overwhelming—both emotionally and financially. Watching her go through this has been heartbreaking, and I haven’t left her side.
Luna still has a recovery journey ahead, including follow-up care, medications, and monitoring to make sure she heals properly.
