Luna and her family are actively involved in her (and her siblings) love of soccer and softball. All four of the Perrone children play soccer in the PGBYAA Palm Beach Gardens Predators Soccer program. Luna is a member of the U11 Girls Elite travel team. Luna and her sisters also play in our recreation Softball program, and her brother in our Baseball program.
The family visited Miami Children's hospital to begin treatment and after paying what they believed was their insurance deductible, were told that the hospital does not accept their insurance. The family is now working with a local hospital, but basically lost thousands of dollars, and still now owe for their true deductible in addition to the many other expenses for Luna's treatment. Ewing's Sarcoma is a rare form of cancer, treatment for it is very expensive, daily shots are upwards of $4000.00 per dose. Luna will need months of in hospital and outpatient chemotherapy in addition to the blood and immune boosting shots.
As you can only imagine, Chris and Hailey, Luna's parents are completely overwhelmed with all they have to deal with. The PBGYAA prides itself on taking care of the children and families in our programs who are in need.
This Go Fund Me account has been set up by the Palm Beach Gardens Youth Athletic Association, on Luna's behalf to help provide for the medical and other expenses her family may encounter in the coming months. All funds collected will be given directly to the Perrone family by the PBGYAA.
