I am reaching out with a heavy heart and a very personal request.
After losing my job in the United States and making several sincere attempts to secure new employment, I am now in a situation where I may have to leave the country and return to India. This transition is already emotionally and financially difficult, but the hardest part is figuring out how to safely take our three beloved pets with us: our two dogs, Luna and Juno, and our cat, Mackenzie.
Luna, Juno, and Mackenzie are all 5 years old now, but they came into our lives when they were only 2–3 weeks old. We raised them like babies. They have grown up with us, slept beside us, comforted us through difficult days, and filled our home with love, chaos, loyalty, and joy. They are not “pets” to us. They are family.
The thought of leaving them behind is unbearable.
They have been with us through some of the most important and difficult phases of our lives. Luna and Juno have been our shadows, always excited to see us no matter how hard the day was. Mackenzie, in her own quiet and loving way, has been a constant source of comfort and companionship. Anyone who has loved an animal knows that this bond is not something you can simply walk away from.
All three are fully vaccinated, healthy, and up to date on their medications. We are doing everything responsibly to make sure they can travel safely and legally to India. However, international pet relocation is extremely expensive. The costs include airline-approved travel arrangements, crates, veterinary documentation, export/import paperwork, transport logistics, and related relocation expenses.
The funds raised through this GoFundMe will be used solely for transporting Luna, Juno, and Mackenzie safely from the United States to India.
I never imagined being in a position where I would have to ask for help like this. But I also cannot imagine a future where we leave behind the animals we raised from infancy and who trust us completely. They do not understand visas, jobs, layoffs, borders, or financial hardship. They only know that we are their family.
