Our sweet girl, Luna's eye was injured a couple of weeks ago. We immediately took her to her veterinarian, and after treatment and several follow-up visits, we were referred to a veterinary eye specialist in hopes that her eye could still be saved.

Unfortunately, despite everyone's best efforts, we received the heartbreaking news that Luna's eye cannot be saved and will need to be surgically removed.

While we are incredibly grateful that she is otherwise doing well and not in significant discomfort, this surgery is necessary to prevent future pain and complications and to give her the best quality of life moving forward.

The surgery and related medical expenses are estimated to cost between $3,500 and $4,000—an expense we were not prepared for.
