Luna needs Emergency Veterinary Care now!  Here is her story as told on Thursday, June 7, 2018 via Social Media by her Mom:

15 days ago my dog luna came home from a walk with the dog walker and the door wasn’t properly shut, she got out her little name tag must of ripped off because my father found in in the street in front of the house. Someone found her and took her to the hempstead animal shelter in wantagh. When I went there to get my dog they told me I needed proof, I provided all the correct documentation, It was sent to the town attorney to be confirmed. They explained it is a town law My Luna had to be spayed before coming home, I was extremely against this since she is my dog, my decision. After fighting for 3 days I just wanted her home. I was then told she needed to get a blood work test done before the surgery which takes 5 days for the results. The test was taken on the 25 of may. I visited her everyday after work or on my lunch break, my heart was breaking more and more because everyday she was getting sadder and sicker. I repeatedly told the staff she needs a vet shes sick, the nasty women at the front desk told me she was just depressed. Days go by waiting on results of the test and nothing I tried to call the town attorney and lawyers and cops I received no help, one of the ladys at the animal shelter made a mistake and said they took in 2 applications for people to adopt luna. Monday comes I go sign the paper to just get her spayed in hope my luna can come home before leaving I go see her she has green snot coming out of her noise she is so weak shes crying for help. I screamed at them shes sick they said they would get the vet. Yesterday I called all morning trying to get the test results for the test to get her spayed just so she can come home and i can take care of her. They hung up on me multiple times they wouldn’t answer my number I finally called off a co workers cellphone and the answered i explained my dog is sick I want her home non of this is right. A half hour later I get a call from the director mike who tells me luna is sick and to pick her up they dont want her. I pick her up take her to the vet he says take her to the hospital right now. Now she is at the hospital might not make it she has pneumonia and fluid in her lungs. They gave my Luna back half dead, I have her in the best care trying to help her.
please share this till I get help If anyone knows me you know I cant take the heart break of losing another dog at such a young age

Today is June 11, 2018.  Luna's Mom has been asking for help since that post and has since taken Luna home from the hospital due to the lack of funds.  She is a young working woman who spent all of the money she could gather to save Luna.  As we all know, Emergency Veterinary Care is extremely expensive and Luna's illness was the result of her stay at the shelter.  Since her cry for help many have taken to Social Media, including Town of Hempstead Representatives (Volunteer and Fake Profile) to blame and shame this young woman and her family.  This is also outrageous and needs to come to an end ~ NOW!
