Luna is the heart of our family—her wagging tail and gentle eyes have brought us so much joy and comfort through life’s ups and downs. About three weeks ago, we noticed something was wrong. Luna developed an infection under her tongue that’s spread toward her throat, and despite three weeks of antibiotics and ongoing care with her vet, the abscess is resisting treatment. Today, her vet referred her to a surgeon, and we’re doing everything we can to help her heal.

From the very beginning, Luna’s care team has worked tirelessly. She was sedated so her mouth could be explored, and started on antibiotics and pain medication. When the infection returned after her first round of treatment, her vet prescribed another course. As the abscess grew larger and harder, Luna underwent a fine needle aspiration and more advanced antibiotics. For a few days, it seemed like she was improving, but the infection came back stronger. At her latest appointment, Luna had x-rays and an ultrasound to rule out anything lodged in her throat. Thankfully, no foreign objects were found, but her vet felt surgery was too risky due to the size and location of the infection. That’s when we were referred to specialists, and now Luna must be seen as an emergency patient to get the care she needs.

We’ve already poured so much into her care, but the costs keep growing, and it’s overwhelming. Every little bit raised here will go straight to giving Luna the treatment she needs to get back to her happy, loving self.

Luna isn’t just a pet—she’s family. We’ve had our share of tough times, and I know so many others have too.
