Help Luna Fight Grade 4 Brain Cancer

Donation protected
Luna is a sweet, sassy, smart 3 year old (almost 4) little girl. She is the kind of kid who lights up a room the instant she enters it. Her smile is so contagious and gives you that warm fuzzy feeling of happiness. Luna has such an amazing personality; she has one of the best sense of humor. She is sure to make you laugh when you are around her. She loves to play with her Barbies, play makeup, dance and sing. Her taste in music is impeccable; you will find her asking for Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, or One Rrepublic. She loves everything spooky and enjoys frequent trips to Spirit Halloween with her brother and sister.

Luna had always been a healthy girl, until she wasn't. On September 2nd, her family noticed the left side of her body became weak. She wasn't using her left arm, her walk was off, and she had a slight droop on the left side of her face. Her parents immediately took her to the ER. That day, they got the devastating news that the MRI images showed a brain tumor on the right side of her brain that was affecting the left side of her body. Luna was immediately transported to a Los Angeles hospital where a team of pediatric neurosurgeons could better care for her. There, her parents were met with more devastating news; they were told that the tumor was inoperable because of its size and location. The tumor showed all the signs of being malignant. Luna's parents were shocked as she showed no indications this was taking over her brain; her symptoms manifested overnight. On September 5th, Luna underwent a brain biopsy to find out what type of tumor they were dealing with. After 6 days at the hospital, Luna was able to go home to be with her brother and sister, whom she had never been apart from to await the pathology results.

On September 21st, her parents received pathology results. Lunas tumor is a high grade Astrocytoma/ DMG grade 4. They were told her prognosis was very poor; the oncologist's words are something no parent should have to hear about their child, "she won't survive this." Her parents want to give the fighting chance she deserves and ask every day for a miracle.

Luna went from being a healthy 3 year old running and jumping around to now not being able to walk, unable to play with both hands as she has lost function of her left arm. Luna has shown us that she is a brave, resilient little girl; even after enduring everything, she finds a way and hasn't let any of this stop her.

Luna is in the early stages of her diagnosis; she, unfortunately, has been left in a waiting limbo for a month receving no treatment, even with the advocating efforts of her mom. This tumor is very aggressive; time is crucial! They shouldn't be left to wait; no child with this type of diagnosis should be left with no treatment for this long. Her parents want to give Luna the fighting chance she deserves and are seeking a second opinion.

Luna's mom, Coral, stays at home and cares for her and her two other children. Their only source of income is her husband, Humberto, who has had to take unpaid time off work to help care for his family. They have both taken turns to be by Luna's side and also be there for their other two children, who are only 9 and 11.

No parent should have to worry about cost when it comes to their child's health. Luna and her family will have to travel and stay miles from home. This GofundMe aims to alleviate some of the financial stress placed on the family. The kind donations will help pay for any medical expenses for Luna(as she may have out of network costs) , travel for treatment, meals and anything Luna and the family may need during this difficult time.

We thank you for all the prayers, good thoughts, and healing energy sent Luna's way!

The family is so kind, fun, and loving!

Luna loves her big brother and sister!

Luna's mom, Coral, has a youtube video (@coralfully) giving more detail on how they found out about Luna's tumor (this was before pathology results came back). She does plan on doing updates through this long and challenging journey.
