Help Lumpia Love Overcome Generator Challenges

Lumpia Love is a Filipino food truck that can be found in Tacoma, Puyallup and around Pierce county, WA. We began in 2013 as a pop up canopy business operating at farmers markets for many years. One of the biggest leaps we have made was in 2022 when we launched our food truck.

It has opened doors for us to be more mobile and lessen the physical lifting and setup/breakdown process. As we get older, it gets harder on the body!

When we purchased the truck and finished the build out, there were many unexpected challenges with the maintenance and repair of the truck and equipment. With so many working parts to make this business run, it is inevitable that at some point the maintenance will eventually turn into replacement of new equipment.

At this point, we need a new generator. Our existing one has a cracked engine and it is not cost effective to keep repairing it over and over.

You may have recently been caught at the counter attempting to pay when our power has gone down or noticed the incredibly loud and heavy backup generator that we’ve been using for the last month. After many trips to various repair shops, and thousands of wasted dollars later, we recently found out that we’ve been limping through with a crack in the generator engine that a repair shop has been patching with temporary fixes. To get the current generator repaired is not cost effective and so, we need to purchase a new generator.

The cost of the generator along with the diagnostics, labor and installation are close to $11,500. Any remaining balance will be used for other truck maintenance.
