Hi there! We are Lumino, a classical music chamber group focused on contemporary trios, living composers, and crossover genres, featuring Sonia Lee on violin, Lisa Raschiatore on clarinet, and John Etsell on piano. We perform throughout Southeast Michigan, most recently with ProMusica Detroit, Trinosophes, the Schmier Recital Series, and Madonna University. We were recently selected to perform at ClarinetFest 2022, a convention hosted by the International Clarinet Association, which will take place June 29th to July 3rd in Reno, Nevada. We are honored as only a few ensembles were asked to perform, and our performance will be attended by musicians from around the world. We can’t wait to share Ned Rorem’s brilliant End of Summer, a piece we love that is much too infrequently performed!
As you might imagine, the cost of travel from Detroit to Reno during the first week in July is exorbitant. Since our performance at the convention is a service to the ICA organization, we will not be receiving an honorarium. We need your help to offset expenses related to our travel to and from the conference (see our budget below). All donations will be acknowledged in printed material and on our website.
We are holding a Fundraising Recital on June 26th, 2022 at 4:30pm at the Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church in Detroit, where we will perform the End of Summer by Ned Rorem, as well as compositions by Gian Carlo Menotti, William Bolcom, Charles Ives, Darius Milhaud, and others.
