Lulu is my 14-year-old Shih Tzu, and I’m starting this fundraiser because I need help getting her the veterinary care she needs. Five years ago, my late roommate and I rescued Lulu from an abusive and neglectful situation. When we brought her home, she was in terrible condition, matted with feces and urine, shut away in a back room, and clearly not being cared for. We got her groomed, fed, safe, and loved, and she has been my little companion ever since. After my roommate was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and later passed away, I was left trying to manage everything on my disability income alone. I’m embarrassed to ask for help, but I’ve reached a point where I can’t do this by myself anymore.

For the past two months, Lulu has been suffering from ongoing digestive problems, including diarrhea with blood, and stretches where she stops eating and drinking for days at a time before seeming better again. She is also dealing with severe skin allergies that leave her constantly itching and biting at her paws and skin. It is heartbreaking to watch her suffer, especially after everything she has already been through. The support from this fundraiser will go toward vet visits, diagnostic testing, medication, and the care Lulu needs to relieve her symptoms and keep her comfortable.

I’m asking for donations or even just shares of this fundraiser to help me get Lulu the treatment she needs. Any support would mean so much to both of us and would help give her comfort in her golden years. If anyone is more comfortable having support go directly toward her care, I can make an appointment with a local vet and try to arrange for donations to be sent there.
