Help Lulu Advocate for Community Colleges and TRIO in D.C.!
Donation protected
Lourdes "Lulu" Mendez has been selected for an incredible opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., in early February of 2025, to advocate for community colleges and TRIO programs on Capitol Hill. Pima Community College, which serves a little over 16,800 students, selected only three student leaders to attend the National Legislative Summit, one of which is Lulu.
This once-in-a-lifetime experience will allow her to share her personal story, meet with Arizona's representatives in Congress, and champion the programs that have transformed the lives of so many TRIO students like herself.
Lulu is a first-generation student who is dependent on financial aid and needs your support raising funds for:
- A professional wardrobe suitable to meet with government officials and attend the summit.
- Additional expenses to ensure she is fully prepared, warm, and comfortable during her time in D.C.
As a TRIO participant and community college advocate, Lulu is passionate about making sure students have access to the information, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive. Your contribution - no matter the size - will help her confidently represent students nationwide and make a lasting impact on government officials.
Thank you for supporting Lulu as she takes on this important journey to advocate for students and education!
