Help Luke to get back on his feet
Donation protected
Luke ( Barra, Lukie Duke, ) Whelan is one bloke that lives life to the fullest. He’s a young bloke that works hard and gives his all his family, his mates, and anyone that will have a good chat. He’s a chippy that has worked hard to build his business, Barra’s Carpentry and Construction, and for those that he has worked for, will only talk about his effecifiency and precision when it comes to working on the tools. Luke has two loyal companions, Trumby and Patch. From the job site to hunting and fishing expeditions. The bond between Luke and his companions is evident, with Trumby and Patch always within a 5- metre radius of the beloved owner.
These two dogs, along with his family members and friends absolutely adore Luke.
On Sunday the 21st January 2024, Luke and his builder mate, Brett began working on a building project. They decided to get an early start due to the scorching heat. Just after 8am, Margo ( his mum ) received a phone call from Brett, letting her know that Luke had had an accident, whereby a metal wall had fallen on him, luckily for Luke, he came out of it with only nine broken ribs and a punctured lung, seeing him spend a week in hospital until, being scheduled for an operation in the coming weeks. In an unfortunate twist of fate, whilst Luke was in hospital he received news that his home was engulfed in flames. The local firebrigade responded immediately and did an exceptional job, along with neighbours and Maddi, who risked her life to get Trumby and Patch out of their enclosure safely.
Nothing remains of Luke’s house and he has lost all of his valuable belongings. With the help of so many of his tradie mates, family and friends, we hope that we can do just a little to ease the burden and help him get back on his feet and hopefully go back to doing what he loves, working, chatting, fishing ( his favourite ) hunting and just being a great son, grandson, brother, cousin and mate.
