Hi, My name is niamh and I am a mother to 4 boys. 3 of my boys have autism. Luke is the youngest of the 3 and has more server needs then his older siblings. Luke is a flight risk and also has a pica eating disorder. This has changed our lives and our household massively to suit his safety and also hes needs. Luke is affected with his need for sensory seeking non stop and causes him to wake for long period of times during the night. Sometimes he can wake as esrly as 11 pm and not return to sleep till 4 or 5 am. He is currently on the floor with a mattress with stair gates blocking him from exiting the room. He has now mastered how to climb the gate so makes this option unsafe. Luke is already on two medications which still is not helping the problem although it has slightly improved. Luke requires a bed as seen in the pictures which has a cost of €4,667. I have had to quit my work in order to assist his new school placement as I am the main carer for all my children. This go fund me is hoping to help support getting this bed sooner rather than later to help not only Luke have a safe place to sleep and hopefully improve his sleep patterns but also to support me in sleep also so I can stay sane. I am a mother in recovery currently 4 years and all I want to do is provide the best for my boys who deserve the world. Each one is unique in their own way but we have a long road ahead to bring Luke to where he needs to be. Hoping a night sleep over time will help improve his abilities and interest in everyday life.
