Hello, my name is Luke Velardi & I am a freshmen at Morristown High School. Currently, I am taking Life Design Lab & for my design project I am attempting to raise awareness for all types of cancer and in turn, raise money to support further research for the American Cancer Society. This is a matter that hits very close to home for me. In the summer of 2023, my mom turned 40 and went for her first mammogram, where she was later diagnosed with stage 1a breast cancer. Although I was completely devastated to find this out, what stuck out to me was when my mom said that she is going to be okay because she was aware of the importance of screening and that she did not wait. It is this reason that I want to raise further awareness and money for all types of cancers. This knowledge will hopefully lead to more people being educated and proactive, which will in turn, save more lives. Any little bit donated is greatly appreciated and will lead to helping further research for treatments. A hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society and I thank you in advance for your consideration and generosity.
