Help Luke Peterson with a Hypothalamic Hamartoma
Donation protected
We are the friends and family of Luke Peterson, son of Corey and Bethany Peterson. We are raising money to help offset the medical and travel expenses of Luke’s diagnosis.
Luke was diagnosed with a Hypothalamic Hamartoma in his brain on November 30th, 2022. A Hypothalamic Hamartoma is a tumor-like formation on the hypothalamus, the area at the base of the brain that controls the production and release of hormones by the pituitary gland. Luke has precocious puberty due to his HH. Therefore, he sees a local endocrinologist and receives injections to regulate his hormonal imbalances. He will be on this treatment plan until he’s a teenager. He also has epilepsy due to his HH. He underwent a laser ablation surgery on July 21st, 2023. The surgeon was able to safely ablate around 75% of his tumor. Unfortunately, he is still dealing with daily gelastic seizures and will require another surgery.
The Peterson family will be traveling to Houston, TX for Luke’s second laser ablation brain surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital. Luke will undergo a MRI, blood work, and numerous screenings prior to surgery. Surgery is set to occur in June, 2025.
Our goal is to collectively take care of their travel and medical expenses to help alleviate an already stressful and emotional time for Luke and his family. Most importantly, we ask for prayers for Luke, his family, and his medical team as they navigate through his medical journey. We appreciate your support!
Bethany's Venmo is @Bethany-Peterson-44 if you would prefer to donate to her directly.
