Help Luke Get Needed Surgery Revision

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Luke. I'm a white, disabled trans man. I'm raising money for a much-needed top surgery revision. My top surgery was done in Oct of 2023, and unfortunately I had a terrible experience with my initial surgeon.

When I confronted the surgeon post-op about the way my chest ended up, he became very defensive and told me that he could give me a revision but he wouldn't. And that was that.

I had been waiting 2 years for that surgery and anticipated the joy and euphoria it would bring me. It was really difficult for it to instead end up being an deeply upsetting experience.

Every other surgeon who's looked at my chest has agreed: the initial surgeon did a bad job, and I need a revision. In fact, I basically need my entire top surgery redone.

It's been really disappointing that what is typically a "one and done" surgery is going to require putting myself through a second top surgery and recovery. But I'm hopeful that with this revision, I'll finally be comfortable in my body and happy with my chest. Having this revision surgery will give me the chance to finally move forward.

I've spent the last year and a half pursuing revision options. I have called every potential surgeon in the state (and a couple out of state), looking for an option my insurance would cover. Most surgeons aren't doing revisions, and my only options for using my insurance have a 3-year wait list. By then I'd be going into another planned surgery. The only way I can have my needed revision and keep my current surgery schedule is to pay out of pocket.

Thankfully, I found a surgeon who's willing to give me a substantial discount: 50% off part of the procedure, 10% off the rest, and a 5% discount for paying in cash. The total cost of my discounted revision is $12,312. For context, I'd been quoted $26,000 by a different surgeon! I've already paid $1,000 as a deposit, and I can use my savings to cover about a third of the remaining amount, but I still need to raise $7,800 more.

I'm currently scheduled for this revision surgery at the end of June. That would give me plenty of time to recover before my next surgery in 2026, so the timing is perfect. But it also means I have roughly 6 weeks to reach my goal.

Because I am receiving disability benefits, which barely cover basic expenses, I am unable to save up additional funds for this surgery and am humbly asking my community for support. It feels like a very big ask, but being able to get this surgery would mean the world to me.

Any and all support is greatly appreciated. I'm not active on social media, so shares really help! Thank you for taking the time to read this!

(Fun fact: GoFundMe takes a percentage of every donation given through their platform. If you'd like to donate directly to me, my Venmo is I can add the donation amounts manually on GoFundMe.)
