Help Luke fight Pans Pandas

We all know Amy Burroughs and her amazing son, Luke. We all know that he has been bravely fighting Pans Pandas for well over a year now. Well the insurance company has, once again, denied the life saving treatments that Luke so desperately needs. After a year of daily antibiotics, buckets full to be honest, and no progress, Luke has reached the next stage of treatment, intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG).

 

Immunoglobulin is part of your blood’s plasma. It has antibodies in it to fight germs or disease. When people donate blood, this part can be separated out. Then it can be given to you through a vein in your arm, or IV. If you get IVIg, it can help strengthen your immune system so you can fight infections and stay healthy.

 

Without this treatment, Luke will continue to suffer the debilitating effects of Pans Pandas. Like all parents, the Hostetters will find a way, but Amy has touched all of our lives in significant ways and would give her last dollar, her last bit of food for any of us.
