Help Luke buy a New Home
Donation protected
On September 8th, my brother Luke was evacuated due to wildfires raging north from Ashland, Oregon towards his home in Talent. He was at work at the time and was unable to retrieve anything. The fire blazed through the beautiful manufactured home park where Luke used to live. It left his neighbor's house across the street standing, their lawn still green. But Luke and his daughter Brooklyn (pictured above on the right) lost EVERYTHING. Relying on the good will of community, Luke is now sleeping on a friend's couch and Brooklyn is staying at her mom's house. All their possessions, clothes, electronics - everything is gone and will need to be replaced. Luckily their pit bull Anna is safe and providing comfort. Luke has a car (on loan from a friend - since that burned too) . . . But what he really needs is a new house.
Luke is a charismatic, humble guy who is perfectly happy with a simple lifestyle. His dream is to buy a 5th-wheel trailer to live in with space for his daughter and their dog. He can park it at Jackson's Wellsprings, the scenic campground where he works. Please pitch in what you can. All proceeds will go towards a new home for Luke and Brooklyn, as well as replacing furniture, electronics and other household items that they lost. Your donations will be greatly appreciated, and will help one more victim of west coast fires get what we all need - a place to call home.
Here's where Luke and Brooklyn's house used to be. While the fires raged, Luke stayed at work helping firefighters get water from the natural mineral springs at Jackson's Wellsprings. With your help, he will soon have a new home.
