Dear Friends! We are fundraising for our friend Christie (Houseman) Sommer's daughter Rachel and son-in-law Luke. They received devastating news that Luke has an agressive cancer at the young age of 24. Luke had surgery on December 20, 2021 to remove the cancerous tumor but later, scans showed the cancer had spread to his lymph nodes. Luke started an intense treatment, BEP Chemotherapy, on 2/7/22 and will need to continue his treatments until the beginning of April. If the treatments are unsuccessful he will need to have the lymph nodes removed by a specialist in New York or Philadelphia for this difficult surgery.

Rachel and Luke married August 22, 2021. They were excited and ready to make a future together and prior to Luke's diagnosis they made the decision to move from North Carolina back to PA in December to be closer to family. They both just started new jobs and haven't had the opportunity to accrue paid time-off benefits. This devastating diagnosis will quickly impose an economic burden on Luke and Rachel.
