Hi, my name is Luiza,
and this is honestly one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to ask for.
My little cat Luna came into my life when she was only 11 weeks old. She was tiny, she slept in the palm of my hand, and she stayed by my side during moments when I truly didn’t think I could handle everything alone. Living far away from my family and my husband, she became my daily companion, my comfort, the little light that made my days feel less heavy.
Now the time has come for me to return to Brazil to finally be with my husband and start the life we’ve been waiting for.
But there’s a fear that has been weighing deeply on my heart: not being able to take Luna with me.
I can’t leave her behind.
She isn’t “just a cat.” She is my family.
The thought of boarding a plane knowing she stayed here… it breaks me.
Unfortunately, bringing a pet to another country is extremely expensive, and even though I’m saving everything I can, I simply can’t afford all the required costs on my own. These are the mandatory expenses:
• International veterinary certificate (CDC/USDA): $400
• Airline fee (Delta) for her to travel in the cabin with me: $200
• Required rabies vaccine: $20–$80
• Annual vaccines/boosters needed before travel: $40–$150
• Veterinary consultation/exam for the documents: $40–$100
• Certified translation of the documents by an authorized translator (required for acceptance by the Brazilian Consulate/Embassy): $25–$40 per page
Altogether, the total cost ends up being around $750–$1,080, which is a lot for me right now with an international move, tickets, documents, and everything happening at once.
That’s why I’m here asking for help — not out of luxury, not out of convenience, but because I cannot and will not abandon Luna.
She is part of my life, my story, and this new beginning I’m about to have in Brazil.
If you can donate any amount — even $5 — it truly makes a huge difference.
And if you can’t donate, sharing this page already helps more than you know.
Luna deserves to make this trip with me.
She deserves to arrive in Brazil safe, warm in her travel carrier, ready to start this new chapter with me and my husband.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping in any way you can.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you so much.
With love,
Luiza & Luna
