Help Luisa D'Aversa Rebuild After Fire
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Community Members,
I am organizing this fundraiser for Luisa D'Aversa, a lifelong resident of Eastchester and an EHS graduate. Luisa has always felt the strength of our community. Her three daughters—Sofia (‘18), Maria (‘21), and Isabella (‘24)—are also proud EHS graduates. She has had the privilege of serving as a Special Ed teacher at Eastchester Middle School and a Blue Devil Coach and is a devoted parishioner at Immaculate Conception and Assumption of Our Lady, where she volunteered as a religious instruction teacher for many years.
Today, I’m reaching out during an incredibly challenging time for her and her family. On August 6, 2024, their lives were turned upside down when a freak lightning storm struck their chimney, igniting an electrical fire in their attic.
What began as a warm summer evening quickly turned into a nightmare. As the storm raged, a loud crack of thunder was followed by the horrifying realization that their home was on fire. Luisa scrambled to gather her loved ones and escape. Thankfully, they all made it out safely, but the damage to their home was devastating.
The fire has left them with nothing but ashes and memories. What the flames did not destroy, the water did, leaving their home uninhabitable. All of their belongings, including cherished family photos, furniture, college dorm necessities, and daily essentials, have been lost. The home where they shared countless moments and built their lives together now stands as a shell of what it once was.
They are now faced with the daunting task of rebuilding their lives from the ground up. This unexpected disaster has placed a significant financial burden on them, as they must cover repairs, temporary housing, and the replacement of basic necessities.
I humbly ask for your support during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help them move forward and begin the process of rebuilding their home and lives. Your generosity will help them cover essential expenses and give them hope as they work to restore what they've lost.
I appreciate your kindness and support as they navigate this challenging journey. Please consider donating and sharing their story with others who may be willing to help. Together, they can rise from this tragedy and rebuild their lives with hope and resilience.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support
