Help Luis Vega and Family Through Medical Crisis

This GoFundMe page has been created to gather aid from family, friends, and strangers moved to help in order to support my father, Luis Vega, and family.

My dad is the principle income-earner in his family, working for the U.S. postal service for the last several years, and automotive repair before that. In the last several months his health has taken a drastic turn for the worse. All signs point to cancer of some sort. We do not yet have a confirmation of the exact prognosis due to a massive cyber-attack rendering the Texas Tech Health Sciences system inoperable, delaying treatments for him as well as countless others spread across the West Texas area.

As of this writing, he has been unable to work for 14 weeks. My mother is a semi-retired teaching assistant who also cares for my disabled sister. Her modest income is not able to contend with monthly living expenses, much less whatever medical costs are guaranteed to head their way.

We are setting the initial goal for this fundraiser to $11,000 and will make any adjustment we need as news comes our way. The funds will go toward paying for living expenses such as rent and bills, as well as the out-of-pocket medical costs that my dad's treatment will heap onto the pile.
