En octubre, Luis acudió a la sala de emergencias debido a un dolor severo en el muslo izquierdo. Después de varios estudios y biopsias, recibimos la devastadora noticia de que fue diagnosticado con un sarcoma grado 3 que se ha propagado a sus pulmones.

El tumor está presionando el nervio ciático, causando un dolor intenso y afectando gravemente su movilidad. Luis ya no puede caminar, trabajar ni llevar la vida que tenía antes.

Actualmente se encuentra recibiendo tratamiento de radiación, con cirugía programada para remover la masa. Posteriormente, iniciará quimioterapia como parte de su tratamiento.

Los fondos recaudados ayudarán a cubrir los costos de cirugía, radiación y quimioterapia, así como gastos básicos de vida mientras Luis no pueda trabajar.

My name is Beatriz Rivera, and I am raising funds for my brother, Luis Alberto Rivera, who is currently fighting an aggressive form of cancer.

In October, Luis went to the emergency room after experiencing severe pain in his left thigh. After a series of imaging studies and biopsies, our family received devastating news: he was diagnosed with a grade 3 sarcoma that has metastasized to his lungs.

The tumor is pressing on his sciatic nerve, causing intense pain and drastically limiting his mobility. Luis is no longer able to walk, work, or live the life he once knew.

He is currently undergoing radiation treatment, with surgery scheduled to remove the mass. Following surgery, he will begin chemotherapy as part of his ongoing treatment.

The funds raised will help cover the costs of surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, as well as basic living expenses during the time Luis is unable to work.
