On Saturday October 11, 2025 my dad Lewy had a massive heart attack while at work at Wingstop in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Thanks to the fast actions of his coworkers and 2 nurses who were customers CPR was started quickly. EMS arrived and took over, he was transported to Helen Keller and then transferred to NAMC. During this time we were told he coded 6 times and was dead for 45 minutes. When my mom arrived at the hospital doctors told her he only had a 5% chance of survival and if he survived he would most likely be brain dead due to the lack of oxygen for so long. They encouraged her to say her goodbyes to her husband of 32 years (they had just celebrated their wedding anniversary the day prior). If you know my momma you know she was having none of that and instead she put on worship music and prayed scriptures over him. His body began twitching and tears were running down his face but he remained unconscious. He was soon transferred to the ICU and in route up stairs from the ER he coded again! He was revived again and after just a few minutes he woke up. He had a 90% blockage and the doctors called his heart attack a "Widowmaker". The next day when he was stable 2 stents were placed. 24 hours later he was taken off the ventilator and within a few minutes was cracking jokes with the nurses. He has some kidney damage and short term memory issues from the lack of oxygen for so long and he still has a long road ahead for a full recovery. MIRACLE AT WINGSTOP: MUSCLE SHOALS MAN BROUGHT BACK FROM THE DEAD — TWICE

A true miracle of God unfolded last Saturday evening inside the new Wingstop restaurant on Avalon Avenue in Muscle Shoals.

At approximately 5:15 p.m., restaurant cook Luis Quinones, 59, suddenly collapsed from a full cardiac arrest — known as a “widow maker” heart attack.

But in a stunning turn of providence — two nurses just happened to walk in within seconds of the medical emergency. One immediately rushed to Quinones and began CPR. When she began to tire, the second nurse stepped in and the two began working together in perfect rhythm, fighting to keep him alive.

First responders soon arrived and continued lifesaving measures before rushing Quinones to Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield.

Doctors there delivered gut-wrenching news to his wife — a mere five percent chance of survival.

But his wife, Kristina Quinones, refused to accept death.

She immediately began playing the powerful worship song “I Speak Jesus” by Charity Gayle, holding her husband’s hand and reading scripture aloud over him — starting with Isaiah 58:8:

“Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily… Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’”

Inside the ER, doctors and nurses continued shocking Quinones’ heart — nearly an hour with no oxygen — when suddenly, on the last shock… he SAT UP, eyes wide open — alive.

But the miracle was not over.

Quinones was transported to North Alabama Medical Center in Florence — and suffered ANOTHER heart attack in the ambulance. Paramedics again brought him back.

Cardiologists later discovered his left anterior descending artery — known as “the widow maker” — was 90% blocked. Two stents were placed, and he is now recovering in the step-down cardiac unit at NAMC.

“To God be the glory — thank you Jesus,” said his wife Kristina, who never stopped praying.

FAMILY FACING HEAVY MEDICAL COSTS

Quinones is uninsured, and his wife says just the equipment needed to keep him alive — a life vest defibrillator — costs $5,000 per month. As well as medications he will need to be on for the rest of his life
