On July 2 When the temperatures were over 100, Luis Fernando was out in the fields of southern NJ working - picking the fruits and vegetables that Grace our tables when he suffered a severe heat stroke. He is still currently hospitalized and faces a long road to recovery.

Luis Fernando, or Fer, as he is affectionately known by his family, is just 20 years old. This summer marks his second season working in the fields. Like many young people who travel far from their families in search of a better future, Fer has made great sacrifices and is the primary provider for his family back home in Mexico.

He has big hopes and dreams for his future and has been working tirelessly to achieve them through hard work and determination. For now, those plans are on hold as he fights to recover from this medical emergency. However, with your support, the unconditional love of his family, and God's grace, we are confident that Fer will recover and be able to accomplish all that he has set out to achieve.

El 2 de Julio cuando las temperaturas subieron arriba de 100, Luis Fernando estaba trabajando pizcando las verduras que llegan a nuestras mesas cuando sufrió un fuerte golpe de calor. Todavía se encuentra hospitalizado y enfrenta un largo camino de recuperación.

Luis Fernando, o Fer, como cariñosamente le dice su familia, tiene apenas 20 años y está trabajando su segunda temporada en los campos. Como muchos jóvenes que arriesgan su vida y sacrifican el estar lejos de su familia para salir adelante, Fer es el sostén de los suyos. Tiene grandes sueños y anhelos que planeaba alcanzar con base en su trabajo y esfuerzo constantes. Hoy, sus planes han quedado en pausa, pero con el apoyo de todos ustedes, el amor incondicional de su familia y de la mano de Dios, sabemos que volverá a recuperarse para cumplir todo lo que se ha propuesto.
