Help Luie and the Martinez family

Hi, my name is GiGi and I am fundraising for my brother Luie. He was involved in a motorcycle accident on Thursday night, October 27th that left him with multiple injuries and landed him in the ICU for numerous days. A distracted driver was speeding when he crashed into my brother and showed no remorse as Luie was bleeding from his arm and skull while lying unconscious on the road.

While in the hospital, he needed to receive blood products, various surgeries, sedation, intubation, high-strength pain medications, and extra care from the specialists and trauma center. His worst injury is his right arm: he received a complete fracture to his radius bone, dislocation to his ulna bone, torn thumb tendon, shredded bicep tendon, and extensive abrasive damage to his forearm down to the muscle. Additional injuries include a C5 fracture, multiple skull fractures, road rash to his face and extremities, a pubic bone fracture, and sprained ankle.

Luie woke up in the ICU with no recollection of the crash. His mother, Cina, father, Luis, and sibling (me), GiGi, were with him during his critical ICU hours. Every day is a positive sign of improvement. He has a LONG, slow, and steady road to recovery ahead of him. The doctors believe he will make a near-full recovery.

Luie is a passionate personal trainer who is devoted to health like no other. He is strong-willed, determined, and headstrong in his pursuit of returning to where he once was. Luie wants to get back to riding waves in the ocean and pushing his clients to do their best in the gym.

Luie does not have health insurance. The substantial medical bills will drown our family. We are asking for any support possible through this GoFundMe page.
