At Lucy S. Herring Elementary School, our Odyssey of the Mind club is more than just an after-school activity—it's a vibrant community where young minds come together to dream big, solve problems creatively, and build lifelong skills. This year, two of our talented teams have earned a coveted spot to compete at the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals in Ames, Iowa!


Odyssey of the Mind is an international program that challenges students to think outside the box, combining STEM, arts, and teamwork to tackle complex problems. Our students have spent months designing innovative solutions, building intricate props, writing scripts, and practicing spontaneous problem-solving. From constructing a vehicle to creating a performance, their hard work, ingenuity, and passion have shone through. After winning at the regional and state levels, they are ready to represent our community on the global stage!


These young innovators have poured their hearts into this journey, learning resilience, collaboration, and creative problem-solving along the way. For many, this is their first chance to travel far from home, compete internationally, and see their ideas celebrated on a global stage.
