Many of you know and love our dear Lucy, but if you don’t here’s a short story: Luciana Wang, who has been an essential part of the Mai-Kai family since 2000. Her maternal instinct and the way she cares for all of us are just a few of her many wonderful qualities.

If we’re sick, Lucy makes us tea; if we’re sad, she offers a comforting hug; if we’re worried, she always has a kind word of encouragement. Our regular guests adore her because her warmth is unmatched and her service truly five-star—Lucy knows every corner of the Mai-Kai and delivers hospitality at its finest.

Today, our Lucy needs us.

On Saturday, September 28, while preparing for her shift with her teammates, she suddenly became very ill. Thanks to the quick action of her coworkers, her condition is stable, though her prognosis remains guarded.

At the moment we don’t have more details about what happened, but we do know that our support, prayers, and positive thoughts are vital for her recovery.

Let’s come together as the great Mai-Kai ‘ohana we are to send her all our strength and love. Lucy has always been there for us—now it’s our turn to be there for her
