My name is Lucy, and I’m reaching out because I’m going through one of the hardest times of my life. I am currently disabled after a series of serious health challenges. I fell in the shower and broke a bone, and then another one collapsed at the same time. Now, I need a shoulder replacement, and my spine is sticking out. My bones are deteriorating due to rheumatoid arthritis, and I recently had surgery on my neck because I was unable to walk. The doctors said my arteries were too tight, and I had numbness in both hands. I’m doing a little better, but I have to wear a brace all day, and it’s still very hard for me to get around. The next step is likely surgery on my back, and until then, I have to get regular shots in my spine to manage the pain.
All of this has made it impossible for me to work outside the home. I’m trying to find work-from-home opportunities, but right now, I’m retired and my income just isn’t enough to cover my rent and bills. I’m also caring for my two dogs and my cat, Garfield, and it breaks my heart to worry about how I’ll feed them. I am so tired of stressing and crying, trying to figure out how I’m going to pay my bills or keep a roof over our heads.
If you are able to help in any way, I would be so grateful. Your support would mean the world to me and my pets during this difficult time. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for reading my story. With much love and respect, Lucy.
