Support Lucy's Trip to Zanzibar!

Hi everyone,

My name is Lucy Sharpe, and I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been accepted into an incredible summer volunteer program in Zanzibar, Tanzania!

During this time I will be able to be monitoring and farming coral reefs, performing early morning beach patrol to spot sea turtle nests, and learning about marine conservation to protect and boost marine life populations in Zanzibar.

I’m also really looking forward to the personal growth this experience will bring. Living and volunteering in a completely new environment will be a chance for me to step out of my comfort zone, learn more about myself, and gain a deeper understanding of the culture. I know this journey will help me grow in ways I can’t even imagine right now.

This experience is truly a dream come true, but it comes with a significant cost. The total cost of the trip, including flights, program fees, and related expenses, is just over $5,000.

I’m incredibly grateful to have received the Ann Bancroft Foundation Grant of $1,000, which has given me a huge head start toward funding my trip. While I’m working hard to save as much as I can, I’m reaching out to ask for your support to help me reach my goal.

Every contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward my travel and program expenses—and every dollar makes a difference!
