Help Lucy and Lilith Move to Chicago!
Hello everyone! I'm Dr. Lucille Ray, a recent PhD graduate. Lilith Freed is my partner and fiancée, and we've been living together for over three years.
My search for a job after graduation started in March, and I was recently very fortunate to accept a position with Rush Medical Center starting the second week of October. It's an exciting opportunity that provides necessary benefits for my healthcare needs and an opportunity to pursue further education in clinical research. Unfortunately, I've been unemployed since my graduate student contract ended with the completion of my degree, and my immunocompromised partner has not been able to find work with the potential of moving and the risk of the pandemic. We don't have any savings to rely on to get us where we need to go. This is where you can help!
We are raising money to help make our upcoming move to Chicago go as smoothly as possible. Any money you donate will go directly to helping us finance the following:
- Rent/deposit for a new apartment in Chicago
- Moving costs (primarily U-Haul rental)
- Travel costs between Akron and Chicago
- Living costs as we wait out the first pay period
