Lucy Lou is Brandy’s beautiful emotional support puppy, just 3 months old. She suffered an unprovoked attack from another dog in our home and was immediately taken to an emergency vet in Holland. We spent all of our money stabilizing her, but Lucy now needs emergent surgery that we cannot pay for. Brandy lives on disability and is fighting for disability herself, making it impossible to work and cover these unexpected costs.

During Lucy’s exam, it was revealed that she has a small oronasal fistula—an opening between her mouth and nasal passages. She will likely need a surgical flap to seal the opening, which can usually be done with a primary veterinarian who does dentistry. Without this surgery, Lucy is at risk of aspiration pneumonia, as particles can enter her nasal passageway and travel down into her lungs. We have already suffered a great loss just last week with the passing of our beloved dog, Max, and cannot handle another loss.
