My little Lucy who has been with me for nine years, sadly has been diagnosed with a tumor on her spleen.
Lucy went from active dog to what seems like overnight, begun a grim battle with cancer. The road ahead of her is long, however with surgery and treatment I hope we can get her back to her old self again. er treatment and surgery is priced far beyond what I’m able to provide at this time. While asking for help in this way is something I never thought I would do, I would do anything to save my little Lucy. Any dollar amount that anyone is willing to or able to donate is much appreciated.
If you’re on the fence, here are some of my favorite memories with her.
1. Lucy loves traveling. This was her first time traveling to fun places where she saw cows and horses for the first time at a Western rodeo, went fishing on a calm summer morning, and took a trip to Six Flags where she devoured her own scoop of ice cream all in one trip! She did such a good job nipping all the horse and cow ankles, they almost gave her a job. However she turned it down because she doesn’t like hats.
2. Celebrating her 5th birthday at the beach where we got to witness the sunrise in the Eastern Shore and she discovered she likes to dig in the sand! She found 50 bucks in dimes and nickels in that sand and she bought brunch with it.
3. Listening to the pitter patter and crunching of snow beneath her tiny feet on our snow day walks. Whether she’s hopping around or eating the fresh fluffy snow, she’s always excited to take a break from cozy cuddles to enjoy a fresh blanket of winter wonderland.
4. Every year, we held a birthday party to celebrate her. Surrounded by friends who adore her who she always greets with cries of excitement and leaps of joy when she sees them. Her favorite party theme was Barbie because she ate a lot of nachos and sang Barbie Girl.
5. Through the years, we traveled a lot together - visiting National Parks, new states, and even the US Capitol where she got to meet Joe Biden and petition for better animal insurance. We’re still working on it. Obviously.
If you’ve read this far or donated, thank you so much. We appreciate you helping to save a life.
