My name is Lavonda and I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of our beloved Lucy Hernandez and her children.

Lucy is currently in the ICU on life support and is scheduled to undergo a procedure to place a tracheostomy so she can remain on a ventilator. Her condition is critical, and this will be a long, difficult road to recovery.

Lucy was unexpectedly taken into cardiac arrest while she was in the hospital receiving IV antibiotics for wounds. While being treated day 4 in the hospital! The medical team was able to bring her back 20 mins later, but at this time, the doctors have shared that there is only a slight chance she will return to her normal self. They are preparing us for the possibility that she may remain in the state she is in now and that her life will never be the same.

Lucy is not only a loving mother, but she also just recently became a grandmother to our soon-to-be seven-month-old granddaughter that we share together. Her youngest child is 17 years old and will be graduating from high school in 2026. They are all taking this very hard, and this situation has deeply affected the entire family.

This fundraiser has been created to help:

• With food and daily necessities for her children

• With rent payments and other essential household bills

• With medical and related expenses

• To provide some stability and support as her children face major life changes ahead
