Help Lucy Heal Her Broken Jaw

Calling all animal lovers! This is Lucy, and here is her story. Lucy was picked up as a stray. The animal shelter decided it was last call for Lucy, so they called AMI Pup Rescue, who works closely with the local shelters to rehome smaller dogs. AMI Pup Rescue saved the day, and saved Lucy from a short life! Lucy went into foster care on February 25th. She was covered in fleas, had very long toenails, had a lesion on her face... she had obviously been in the streets for some time. On February 27th, Lucy's foster brought her into the vet for a spay, a dental, and to have a mass removed from her chest. During surgery, it was discovered that Lucy had a broken jaw on both sides, possibly an old fracture that never healed. The vet placed wires in her jaw to stabilize it and sent her home with the foster. I had seen Lucy's story on the AMI Pup Rescue facebook page, and I knew I wanted to adopt her. On March 29th, she came to her final home, with me. On April 18th, Lucy had a vet appointment to see if the jaw had healed enough for the wires to come out. We received the defeating news that her jaw hadn't healed at all, and we were going to need another surgery to extract bone from her shoulder to create a graft for her jaw, and to put plates in. This poor girl has been through so much already, but this surgery is needed to fix her jaw. We need help, and any amount is greatly appreciated!
