Meet Lucy. Lucy is a one-year-old purebred Dalmatian that was kept outside for most of her short life. She was posted on Craigslist for free because she was no longer wanted. When I asked why she was no longer wanted, I was told they didn’t have the time to properly care for her. I asked why she was kept outside and was told because she likes it. Having known this pup for less than a week, I can tell you she definitely does not like being outside. When I take her out to go potty, she doesn’t want to go and runs back to the door because she’s afraid she won’t be allowed back inside. She has frostbite damage on the tips of her ears and her backside is raw from prolonged exposure.

She is very underweight and is infested with worms. She has had liquid, bloody diarrhea since I rescued her. Lucy has been to the vet once already, and it cost well over $400, which I unfortunately don’t have, but she needed to be seen. She still needs more tests run and also needs to be spayed, but I can’t afford all that she needs. That’s why I am starting this campaign.

Lucy is the sweetest girl who just wants to be loved. She follows me around like glue and likes to sleep under the covers right next to me.
