Lucy, my sweet companion, has recently been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and hyperthyroidism. These conditions have made it increasingly difficult for her to breathe, as fluid continues to build up around her lungs.

Her veterinarian has recommended an X-ray and a procedure called a pleural effusion (to drain the fluid from her lungs), which will help her breathe more comfortably. On top of that, Lucy requires daily medications — including furosemide to reduce fluid buildup, heart medication, and thyroid medication — all of which are essential to her ongoing care.

Even with these challenges, Lucy’s spirit shines through. She’s still eating, drinking, and seeking love and connection every day. She’s not hiding she wants to live; but she needs help to do so.

The costs of her veterinary visits, medications, and procedures are overwhelming, and I’m reaching out for support. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward Lucy’s medical care and give her the best chance at more time with comfort and dignity.
