Help Lucy and Her Family Escape Abuse

Hello, my name is Hori Nguyen, I’m reaching out to seek support for my girlfriend, Lucy Nguyen. Lucy, her mother, and her siblings have endured years of severe abuse at the hands of her father. Recently, he has forcefully moved everyone to Kansas under the guise of a “fresh start” but his true intentions were to isolate, control, and abuse them away from the support of their extended maternal family in California.

He has additionally exerted control over them by refusing to let them move out and generally be independent without intense arguments, threats of harm, physical violence, or blackmail. Lucy and both her siblings have reached out to the paternal side of their family multiple times for help, of which each time they have excused his actions; they continue to defend and protect her father while shunning those who speak up about the abuse. They are complicit and refuse to see his wrongdoings, allowing the abuse to continue. The paternal side of her family wants any reason to kick them out of the home, and is threatening them with homelessness to protect their family unit. He has control of their mother’s financial accounts, her personal items like her phone, and has installed cameras in the house to constantly surveil her mother and her sibling. In Kansas, her mother and her sibling have no privacy or freedom.

This situation has escalated to the point where he has become physically and emotionally violent, and has threatened them with a knife with the intent to kill them on multiple occasions. They need help before it is too late. Lucy and her sibling are in desperate need of a safe place to stay, but as of right now they are both stuck in a dangerous limbo.
