Lucky is our new puppy, a labrador/terrier mix we adopted in August from Great Dog Rescue. He was brought up from Mississippi and quickly became a beloved part of our family. His playful spirit and loving nature have brought so much joy into our lives, and we can’t imagine our home without him.

In December, Lucky swallowed a toy left behind at a dog park. After a week of not eating and several stressful vet visits, we finally discovered the cause and rushed him into emergency surgery. Thankfully, Lucky is now home and recovering, but the experience was overwhelming—especially since I was laid off in October. Facing such a large bill during the holidays has made things even more difficult for our family.
