Help LuckieDogFoundation Support Dogs in Need
Donation protected

Firstly, thank you Daniel Labadie for setting up this fundraiser for us and making the first contribution!!
LuckieDogFoundation was officially started in 2001 but had been a part of training operations for years prior.
Since then, we have rehabilitated and trained thousands of dogs in affiliation with dozens of dog rescue organizations and private owners.
When the pandemic hit, it had a drastic effect on retail training, which had always been the mainstay of income for rehab. Not having the staff or volumes to justify a 501c3 filing and maintenance the operation was kept to the size that could handle the load.
Desperate times called for desperate measures and while training was down, rescue & rehab shot through the roof. Many of the pets acquired during the lock downs have now been dumped back into rescue and all are overflowing and overwhelmed.
In the middle of dealing with all of that, SOME Rescues simply closed down leaving dogs in Rehab stranded and unable to be found homes as adoptions are typically not part of the Rehab process; once healthy dogs have, in the majority of cases, been found homes through established rescues with ethical well run operations, but not anymore.
In April of 2023, LuckieDogFoundation took on 5 dogs from a Rescue network despite being in a state of overfill. Those five dogs were then dumped on our operation leaving a nearly $40k board and rehab bill that was left unpaid. This was in addition to the existing volumes of dogs in sanctuary sponsored only by training, several of which in Sanctuary are too old, sick or injured to be adopted.
We are overwhelmed. No other rescue has room to take any of these animals and many are healthy and adoptable. Euthanasia is out of the question in our history and philosophy. We see them as lives, not property.
Donations will go towards essentials like veterinary care, food, shelter and efforts to find them networks or homes. Intake has been frozen for almost a year as has retail boarding, which was another source of income to cover these costs.
If we lose our lease, there will be no choice but to put several dogs down and be on the street with a couple personal dogs and all we can take with us. Efforts are underway to increase business and relocate to better more affordable location, but we are struggling day-to-day with food, necessities and emergency vet care as it comes up.
In addition to money, any kind of resources will help. This includes dog food, blankets, towels and sharing our page & story with others.
And as always with these cases, the very perpetrators of this kind of criminal neglect, abuse and exploitation are still out there-even attacking us after we've saved and cared and sacrificed for their dogs.
Please get in touch if you're interested in adopting sponsoring or helping in any way. OR if you're one of these insects brave enough to face the light of day and we'll arrange some time with you too.
Thanks!
