On November 17th, a massive fire tore through Luckensy Michaud’s neighborhood in Roselle, NJ, destroying several homes and forcing dozens of people to evacuate with little more than the clothes they were wearing. One of those residents was Luckensy, a proud soldier in the New Jersey National Guard, whose home was completely lost in the blaze.
Luckensy escaped safely, but the fire took everything else. His personal belongings, furniture, uniforms, documents, and the place he called home were all gone in a matter of minutes. As someone who has dedicated himself to serving others, finding himself suddenly displaced has been overwhelming.
Despite the shock and loss, Luckensy remains the same steady, humble person he’s always been. He is grateful to be alive, but the reality is that he now has to rebuild from the ground up. While emergency assistance helped with the first few days, the long-term needs — housing, clothing, basic essentials, and the cost of starting over — are far beyond what he can manage alone.
Luckensy is not the type to ask for anything, which is why friends and family are stepping in on his behalf. Every donation will go directly toward helping him:
- Secure a stable place to live
- Replace essential items lost in the fire
- Rebuild a safe and comfortable home
- Cover unexpected costs that come with starting over after a disaster
Luckensy has spent years serving his state and his community. Now, it’s our turn to stand by him. Any amount — big or small — will make a real difference in helping him get back on his feet. If you can’t donate, sharing this page is another powerful way to support him.
Thank you for showing Luckensy that he’s not facing this chapter alone.
