Lucinda Brainerd is a beloved middle school teacher, wife to Tim, and devoted mother to Mickey, Casey, and Juliette. On what was meant to be a joyful family trip to San Antonio, Texas, to watch her son Casey graduate from U.S. Air Force Basic Training, Lucinda suffered a devastating stroke. She is now hospitalized in critical care, and her family is by her side, facing the uncertainty of her recovery and when she might be able to return home to California.

Lucinda has always been someone you can rely on—whether cheering on her children at every sport and activity, supporting students as an amazing teacher, or volunteering as a booster for the Heritage High PTSO and Air Force JROTC. She has touched countless lives in the Brentwood school district, always putting others before herself. Now, as her family navigates this crisis, they are under tremendous stress, unsure of what tomorrow will bring.

All funds raised will go directly to supporting Lucinda’s recovery: covering medical bills, travel expenses for the family between California and Texas, lodging, food, and helping offset Tim’s loss of income while he manages Lucinda’s care. Both Lucinda and Tim are dedicated teachers, and this support will allow them to focus on healing without the added burden of financial worry.
